Consumers can enroll in a health plan or change their current plan during the Open Enrollment Period for Individuals and Families from November 1st to January 31st. Outside of that period, you may be able to enroll in 2023 coverage during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if you have a Qualifying Life Event.
Examples of life events include losing health coverage, change of residence, marriage, divorce, birth, loss of MediCal, turning 65, and certain Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster declarations – including wildfires and severe winter weather.

*Medicare eligible or enrolled beneficiaries may also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period outside of Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period from October 15th to December 7th.
